# Read.ai

> Connect Read.ai once as a workspace admin and ClosedLoop AI imports every meeting transcript in the workspace, then surfaces product insights from them.

<Note>Read.ai is in **beta**. Read.ai's own API is also in open beta, so its behavior can still change.</Note>

Connect Read.ai to ClosedLoop AI and the meetings your team records in Read.ai become a source of product insights. Feature requests, pain points, churn risks, and competitive mentions are extracted automatically and traced to the customer quote behind them.

## What Gets Imported

| Data | Description |
| - | - |
| Meeting transcripts | The full conversation, turn by turn, with speaker names |
| Meeting metadata | Title, start and end time, meeting platform, and a link to the Read.ai report |
| Participants | Names and email addresses, used to tell your team apart from your customers |
| Summary | The meeting summary Read.ai wrote |

Meetings without a transcript (for example, a recording Read.ai is still processing) are retried for up to 48 hours, then skipped.

## Who Connects

One connection covers your whole team. A **Read.ai workspace admin** connects once with their own Read.ai login; members do not connect one by one.

A Read.ai login can only read the meeting reports its owner can open. For ClosedLoop AI to see every member's meetings, the admin who connects needs **Global Report Access**. Without it, only that admin's own meetings are imported.

## Before You Connect

A Read.ai workspace owner or admin checks two settings in **Workspace Settings** in Read.ai:

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion icon="users" title="Turn on Global Report Access">
    In **Workspace Settings**, open the **Permissions** tab, expand **Advanced Permissions**, and turn on **Global Report Access** for the owner or admin who will connect ClosedLoop AI.

    This setting is off by default. It lets that person open the meeting reports of every member of the workspace, which is what ClosedLoop AI imports.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion icon="download" title="Keep Downloads turned on">
    Read.ai only allows API access for workspaces whose **Downloads** setting is on. If your workspace has turned Downloads off, turn it back on in **Workspace Settings**, or the connection cannot read any meetings.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

See Read.ai's help article [How do I access all reports in my workspace? (Global Report Access)](https://support.read.ai/hc/en-us/articles/23721474625555-How-do-I-access-all-reports-in-my-workspace-Global-Report-Access).

## Setup Guide

1. In ClosedLoop AI, open **Integrations** and select **Read.ai**
2. Click **Connect Read.ai**
3. Sign in to Read.ai as the workspace admin with Global Report Access, and approve read access
4. You return to ClosedLoop AI with the integration connected
5. Choose how far back to import meeting history (1, 3, or 6 months), or skip the history import

**Access requested:** `meeting:read` to read meetings, plus `openid`, `email`, `profile`, and `offline_access` so the connection can identify the admin and stay signed in.

## How Sync Works

* **New meetings:** ClosedLoop AI checks Read.ai for new meetings every 15 minutes and imports each one once its transcript is ready.
* **History import:** the window you choose when connecting is imported in the background, a day at a time. You can import a different window later from the integration's settings.
* **Staying signed in:** the connection renews its own Read.ai sign-in. If Read.ai revokes it (for example, the admin who connected loses access), the integration shows **Action required** and asks you to reconnect.
* **Team changes:** the connection keeps syncing if the admin who connected leaves your ClosedLoop AI team, because the authorization belongs to the Read.ai workspace.
* **Deleted meetings:** a meeting deleted in Read.ai after it was imported stays in ClosedLoop AI.

Internal meetings with no customer in them, such as standups and planning calls, are recognized and set aside, so importing the whole workspace does not fill your insights with internal chatter.

## Disconnect

Open **Integrations** → **Read.ai** and click **Disconnect**. ClosedLoop AI stops syncing and deletes the stored Read.ai sign-in. Meetings already imported, and the insights from them, are kept.
