# Customer Proof Outreach

> Drafts the permission request to a customer whose words you want to use publicly, referencing what they said and where they said it.

Drafts the message asking a customer for permission to use their words. Run it after [Customer Proof](/docs/skills/customer-proof) has found the quote.

```
/closedloop-customer-proof-outreach draft the website permission email for candidate 1
```

## Arguments

| Argument                                                  | Required | Default |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | -------- | ------- |
| A candidate from [Customer Proof](/docs/skills/customer-proof) | yes      |         |
| Usage scope: website, sales, case study, live reference | yes | |

## What you get

```
PERMISSION REQUEST: Priya, Northwind Trading
Scope: website
ROUTE
  Direct. She replies to your account team the same day and has
  spoken to marketing before. No internal intro needed.
SUBJECT
  A quick ask about something you said in May
BODY
  Hi Priya,
  On our renewal call in May you said memberships paid for
  themselves in a season, and that you'd pointed two other
  operators our way.
  Would you be comfortable with us using that line publicly,
  with your name and Northwind's logo? Happy to send you the
  exact placement first, and to change the wording to whatever
  you'd rather have said.
  No problem at all if you'd rather not.
THE EVIDENCE THIS USES
  "Memberships paid for themselves in a season..."   May, call
WORTH ASKING WHILE YOU HAVE HER
  Whether she'd take a peer reference call. Different ask,
  different permission, but she is the obvious candidate.
```

## The ask is shaped by the scope

| Scope          | The ask covers                                              |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| Website | Public quote, logo, name approval, attribution preference |
| Sales | Reuse in decks, emails and prospect conversations |
| Case study | A conversation first, then approval, with metrics validated |
| Live reference | Format, frequency, opt-out                                  |

Asking for more than you need turns a yes into a maybe.

## It asks, never assumes

* Nothing in a draft implies approval exists.
* Unknown permission is stated as unknown.
* Quotes are reproduced exactly as the customer said them.
* Draft only. You send it.

Run [Customer Proof](/docs/skills/customer-proof) first to pick someone.
