Connect Fireflies.ai to ClosedLoop AI and every meeting transcript becomes a source of product intelligence. Feature requests, competitive mentions, churn risks, and deal blockers are extracted automatically, scored by business impact, and traced to real customer quotes.

Connection Method

Fireflies uses API key authentication. You’ll generate an API key from your Fireflies dashboard and enter it in ClosedLoop AI.

Do this before you generate a key. A Fireflies API key can only read the meetings its owner is allowed to open. On Fireflies’ default privacy setting that means only meetings that person personally attended. A valid key from a workspace admin can still return a handful of meetings out of thousands, and the connection will report success. Start with Before you connect.

Before You Connect

Fireflies decides who can open a meeting per meeting, not per person. Workspace admin rights do not change this. Pick one of the two options below before generating a key.

Most workspaces: open meetings to the whole team

A workspace admin makes one change:

In Fireflies, go to Settings → Team tab
Open Recording & Privacy → Privacy & Access
Set Meeting privacy to Teammates & Participants
Save

Every teammate can now open any meeting, so any workspace member’s API key will work. Teammates alone works equally well for ClosedLoop AI; Teammates & Participants also keeps external attendees able to open their own recap, which is usually what you want if you share recaps with customers.

This applies to new meetings only. Meetings recorded before the change keep their original privacy and stay invisible to anyone who wasn’t in them. See Importing past meetings.

Enterprise: use a Super Admin key

Fireflies’ Super Admin role bypasses meeting privacy entirely, so a single key reads every meeting in the workspace, including everything recorded in the past.

Available on the Enterprise tier only
Assigned by Fireflies support, not from anywhere in the workspace interface
Requires signing a side letter agreement covering the role’s access

Ask your Fireflies representative to assign Super Admin to the person whose API key you plan to use. You do not generate a different kind of key. Their existing key gains the wider access once the role is assigned.See Fireflies’ Super Admin documentation.

Setup Guide

Step 1: Get your Fireflies API key

Log in to Fireflies.ai
Go to Integrations and open Fireflies API
Click Get API Key (or go straight to Settings → Developer settings)
Copy the API key

The API is available on every Fireflies plan. Viewing a key does not rotate it, so the same person can copy it again later.

Step 2: Check what the key can read

ClosedLoop AI checks this for you when you connect, and refuses a key that can only read its own owner’s meetings — so this step is optional. Run it if you would rather know before you paste:

You want a long list with many different organizer_email values, and privacy reading teammates or teammatesandparticipants. If every row says participants or owner, the key can only see meetings that person attended and Before you connect has not been applied yet — connecting will be refused with the same explanation.To see what you are missing, compare against the workspace total:

Step 3: Connect in ClosedLoop AI

In ClosedLoop AI, navigate to Integrations in your dashboard
Find Fireflies.ai in the integrations list and click Connect
Paste your Fireflies API key
Choose how far back to import
Click Connect

Once verified, the integration is active and meetings begin importing.

Importing Past Meetings

Opening meetings to the whole team applies going forward. Meetings recorded before that change keep the privacy they were created with, so a backfill will skip them. Three ways to bring history in:

If a colleague connected Fireflies to ClosedLoop AI previously, their key already reaches everything they attended. Reconnecting with it is the quickest way to recover history while you decide on a longer-term option.

Backfill period: Import historical meetings from a configured date range

What to Expect

Once connected, ClosedLoop AI will:

Import meeting transcripts automatically
Analyze each transcript to extract product insights, feature requests, and pain points
Identify churn risks, deal blockers, and competitive mentions
Score by business impact: insights appear in your dashboard and are available via MCP

Internal meetings with no customer in them (standups, planning, status calls) are recognized and set aside, so opening up the whole workspace does not fill your insights with internal chatter.
